General description

Toulouse School of Economics gathers together around 150 junior and senior researchers and about 100 Ph D students (80% international).
Many faculty members are recognized as leaders in their fields and are particularly prolific in industrial economics and regulation, microeconomic theory, public economics, macroeconomics, theoretical and applied econometrics, finance and insurance as well as in environmental and development economics.
Economists from TSE have also developed strong relationships with economic actors : regulators, public and private corporations and various other institutions. This cooperation has initiated and inspired a great deal of original research.


The Graduate programme consists of 2 years of doctoral courses (beginning at the Master 2 level « doctoral path ») and 2 to 3 years of full time research to write the Ph D dissertation.The working language is English and Ph D students come from all parts of the world.

Toulouse is the biggest French university city outside of Paris and is emerging as a leading city in France for its quality of life and the superb architecture of the historic town centre. Toulouse is a young and multi-ethnic city where students can easily enjoy the lively streets, cafés and terraces as well as a rich cultural and sporting environment.
